Hello Folks, Mark has asked me to write a short commentary each week so I am thinking that a type of devotion would be appropriate, so here goes #1:
Amos 5:14 KJV says: “Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you.
” To seek is to search diligently, as if you lost a diamond or anything else that has great value to you, that is how we are to seek the Lord through His Word, through Prayer and meditation. Seeking good rather than evil seems to be easy enough but is it really? Sometimes we seek good information from the news sources but what we hear instead is evil reports, sometimes when we seek information about how someone is doing, what we receive is an evil report (gossip).
The goal then is to sort through what we hear and filter it through the Word of God and the end result is that we become closer to Him.
